University of Technology Sydney in conjunction with Ecobusiness are undertaking a focus group in the Playford Council area.
Small business
is continually to being asked to "do more with less". The 'Green Advantage'
project attempts to present a way for small to medium enterprises (SME's)
to take part in programs similar to the successful environmental management
programs undertaken by larger corporations.
These environmental programs attract cost savings, productivity increases
and extra customers.
The focus group will initially be taking place in the Playford Council area.
Following a nationwide survey which found that SME's are interested in improving
their environmental performance for the following reasons
- Stakeholders in the business such as customers, suppliers and staff see environmental issues as being important.
- Issues of waste management, water efficiency, and energy efficiency are good corporate citizenship
The focus group will investigate the following areas
- Items that interest SME's in Environmental Area
- Barriers to Implementation
- Incentives required for implementation
Following the focus group five businesses will be chosen to under go a short
environmental questionnaire which will be available for them.
